College of Marine Sciences of South China Agricultural University Participated in the First Guangdong Fishery Seed Industry High-quality Development Forum

On December 22, 2019, at 9 a.m., Guangdong Fishery Seed Industry Development Forum was held in Guangzhou, which was divided into scientific and technological, industrial and disease prevention and control chapters. More than 200 representatives of leaders, experts and enterprises were invited to attend the meeting venue to seek common development. College of Marine Sciences, South China Agricultural University, a total of more than 30 teachers and students participated in the forum. College of Marine Sciences, led by our counselor, Mr. Qi Hong, the students arrived at the Kohl Hyatt Hotel in Panyu, Guangzhou, early to attend the meeting. The students are in high spirits and look forward to this forum.

Science and Technology Paper

First, Gao Qingying, deputy director of Guangdong Agricultural and Rural Department, put forward a four-step plan to promote the high-quality development of Guangdong fishery seed industry. As the sponsor of the forum, Guangdong Provincial Agricultural and Rural Department is committed to promoting the high-quality development of fishery seed industry. Gaoqing Ying Director pointed out that at present, Guangdong is vigorously transforming the mode of fishery production, speeding up the construction of modern fishery production pattern, and promoting high-quality fishery development. Guangdong is a major fishery province and a major fishery seed industry province. There are more than 2,000 aquatic seedling farms in the province. The output of freshwater, seawater and shrimp fry ranks first in the country. Over the past decades, with the cooperation of scientific research units and enterprises, Guangdong has developed many new high-quality fishery varieties, which have made important contributions to the prosperity of fishery industry and the prosperity of fishermen's lives.

However, the development of fishery seed industry is restricted by problems such as market irregularity, uncoordinated development and imperfection. It is hoped that the first Guangdong Fishery Seed Industry Expo will be an opportunity for Guangdong Agricultural and Rural Department to focus on standardizing the production of seedlings, improving the seedling system, strengthening the prevention and control of epidemic diseases, intensifying breeding efforts, constantly promoting the old and bringing forth the new, and building a more perfect and systematic fishery seed industry platform.

And then Gui Jianfang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, pointed out that scientific researchers should persist in contributing to seed industry construction. Academician Gui introduced that an old man from the former Soviet Union took the lead in research. He spent a lot of time and energy on breeding work and recorded the experience in books. This book became an important basis for future generations to carry out breeding work.

Then, Gao Yong, director of the seedling Department of the National Aquatic Technology Promotion Station, gave us an explanation on how to solve the problem of fishery germplasm resources. "Seed industry is a national strategic and basic core industry. In order to solve the problem of insufficient supply of seedlings, on January 21, 1992, the Ministry of Agriculture approved the establishment of the National Aquatic Varieties Examination and Approval Committee, and opened the prelude to the construction of the Aquatic Varieties System in China. At present, there are about 15,000 aquatic seed and seedling production enterprises in China, of which 86 are state-level original aquatic seed farms. For the problem of uneven quality of aquatic seedlings, Gao Yong said that after that, third-party organizations with qualifications will be launched to carry out the testing of new varieties.

Wu Zaohe, chairman of Guangdong Fisheries Society; Shigui, Yangtze River, Nanhai Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fisheries Sciences; Bai Junjie, researcher of Zhujiang Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fisheries; Hu Chaoqun, researcher of South China Sea Oceanography Research Institute, etc. also gave detailed lectures on the breeding of new species of Penaeus monodon, Lateolabrax japonicus and Penaeus vannamei Understanding, students deeply feel the hardship of aquatic scientific research industry, benefit a lot.

Industry Chapter

14:00 p.m., the forum came to the second part. Jiang Xiewu, vice president of Guangdong Haida Group, focused on technological innovation, seedling is the "nuclear weapon" of Haida market competition. He pointed out that the strategic positioning of aquatic seedling industry in the development of Haida Group is the foundation of aquaculture, the core link, and high-quality seedling is the foundation of supporting the development of the industry. This is the case. The aquatic seedling project is Haida's most valuable project, and it is also a very core project in the future development of Haida Group. Haida Group's aquatic seed industry involves many varieties, and there will be more breakthroughs in special aquatic products.

Ye Xing, researcher of Zhujiang Institute of Fisheries, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, has brought you the current situation of eel industry and the cultivation methods of fine varieties. Researcher Ye said that the Mandarin eel aquaculture industry has formed a relatively complete industrial chain. However, there are many problems in mandarin fish industry: 1. serious diseases in seedling raising and rearing period, especially viral diseases; 2. uneven quality of seedlings and lack of high-quality seedlings; 3. insufficient awareness of ecological aquaculture by some breeders; 4. input of ecological regulation and control needs to be regulated and supervised; 5. price fluctuation of mandarin fish market, which needs macro-guidance urgently.

Aiming at these problems, Ye Xing put forward the development trend and suggestions of eel industry: 1. green development of eel aquaculture industry; 2. good varieties are the basic factor of green development and the first factor of increasing production, attaching importance to the cultivation of good varieties, increasing the support for genetic improvement of important traits such as eel growth, disease resistance and feeding formula feed, strengthening the construction of good species system, and promoting it. Enter large-scale production of high-quality seedlings, strengthen pathogen monitoring and detection, reduce the risk of breeding; 3. Popularize the concept of ecological aquaculture, improve the level of aquaculture management; 4. Play the guiding role of management departments and associations and chambers of commerce.

Zhao Lei, vice president of Guangdong Haimao Investment Co., Ltd., gave us an analysis of the breeding route and domestic market application status of pulimiao high resistance shrimp. At present, the breeding of aquaculture animals in China is still focused on domestication and utilization. There is still a lot of room for breeding and improvement for specific traits. At present, aquatic breeding is characterized by large potential, large variation, many optional characters, in vitro fertilization / in vitro development, easy control of aquatic sex, more advantages of interspecific hybridization, and even heredity. It is the trend of aquaculture breeding industry in China that enterprises take the lead, international cooperation, national management is strengthened, multi science is involved in breeding projects, application of advanced bioengineering technology, protection and proliferation of aquatic animal and plant resources.

In addition, Li sedong, vice president of Hengxing Co., Ltd., Liang Jianhui, chairman of Guangdong Liangshi Aquatic Seed Industry Co., Ltd., and ye Wei, promotion researcher of Guangdong Fisheries Society, also made detailed reports on breeding and seed industry innovation of Penaeus vannamei and tilapia. Students also talked about it, expressed their views and participated in the discussion of the forum.

Finally, at the end of this forum, under the guidance of the teacher, everyone left the venue orderly and returned to school. Through this forum, I believe that students have a deeper understanding of the aquaculture industry, and some of the questions and prospects raised in the forum also give students an opportunity to think deeply. Our contemporary marine students should study professional knowledge and help the ocean power!
