Dr. Pan Minling of the National Oceanic Fisheries Agency of the United States has a Oceanic Forum for us

      Recently, Pan Minling, chief economic officer of the Pacific Island Fisheries Science Center of the US National Oceanic Fisheries Bureau, visited the seventeenth phase of the Marine Forum. More than 150 of the teachers and students from the Oceanographic Institute listened to their brilliant academic reports. After the report, Li Dasheng, the Secretary of the school, met with Dr. Pan Minling cordially, and Professor Qin Qiwei, President of the Institute of oceanographic college, chaired the report.

     At the meeting, Dr. Pan Minling introduced the implementation of the basic principles and policies of the United States Marine Fisheries Resources Management, through a large amount of data, a simple description of current situation of marine fisheries management as well as the practical significance of aquaculture, stressed the need for reasonable utilization and protection of marine biological resources, prevent overfishing, and maintain the natural ecological harmony. She also combines personal experience and practical experience to encourage marine college students to learn marine science knowledge, and to display their talents for the investigation and management of marine biology and fishery resources in the world. After the report, Dr. pan also interacted and exchanged with the teachers and students of the college.

       It is reported that Dr. Pan Minling once taught in our school, then he studied for Ph.D. degree at University of Hawaii, and he served as an outside school doctoral supervisor in the school of natural resources and environmental management. He served as an adviser to the US western Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Committee.

       Then, Dr. Yang Huirong, a teacher at the Institute of Oceanology, also made an academic report. Miss Yang recently to the United States University of Hawaii of tropical agriculture and Human Resources Institute as a visiting scholar, she mainly introduced during the visit in animal myostatin protein (Myostatin) and DNA vaccine research, and shared experience to learning experience, and actively create conditions to encourage students to study abroad.
